One Stop Drop Recycling Event will help local charities Nov. 17

A “One Stop Drop Recycling Event” will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 17 at The Clifton Center, 2117 Payne St.

The event, which is organized by the Energy Pros of Louisville, encourages people to recycle and repurpose instead of throwing away electronics items, cardboard, shoes, paper, work attire, accessories and household items.

Among the local organizations benefitting from the event — those who will receive donated items — are Catholic Charities, which will recycle household items such as kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and cleaning items; Habitat Restore, which will take building materials and supplies; 2trg, which accepts electornic waste, surge protectors, printers and other items, and EcoCell, which will recycle used cell phontes.

According to a news release from Energy Pros of Louisville, 100 percent of items collected will be recycled or repurposed. Nothing will be sent into a landfill.
