Non-profit raises more than $200,000 for clean water

WaterStep, a non-profit organization that provides safe drinking water to communities in developing countries, announced Jan. 20 that it raised $207,000 in 2016.

Included in that figure was a $100,000 matching grant made by the Living Water Fund.

In addition to safe water, WaterStep also provides sanitation and health education.
In 2016, WaterStep provided aid to disaster-stricken areas in Haiti and Ecuador. WaterStep also shipped 142 water purifiers and 102 portable bleach makers to countries in need.

And, it formed new partnerships in 12 countries, including Nigeria and South Sudan.
