New site of St. Vincent de Paul store in Campbellsville, Ky., is blessed

RecordLogo-FArchbishop Joseph E. Kurtz blessed the construction of the new St. Vincent de Paul C&S Mission Store in Campbellsville, Ky. May 22.

The store, operated by parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, is getting a new home after more than three decades in operation.

Fred Schuhmann, a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help and president of the parish St. Vincent de Paul conference, said the building’s structural steel is in place, but concrete work and plumbing has not started. It’s expected to open at the new site this summer.

The store is staffed by 25 volunteers from the parish and sells clothing, furniture, infant items and excersie equipment. Proceeds from the C&S Mission Store help provide financial aid to needy residents of Taylor County, Ky., such as emergency assistance for rent and utilities.
