New Catholic Internet radio station comes to Louisville area

Breadbox Media, a Catholic Internet radio station focused on evangelization and outreach, is now broadcasting to the Louisville community.

Breadbox Media’s programming includes live talk shows as well as pre-recorded shows by Catholic broadcasters. Listeners can also hear podcast series, such as a question and answer series with Bishop John Stowe of the Diocese of Lexington, according to the media outlet’s website.

The content of the station is delivered through the Breadbox Media app that uses geolocation to target its programming.

Other stations broadcasting Catholic programming in the area are WLCR 1040 AM in Louisville and WLHN 95.3 FM in Meade County, a new station sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and parishes in that county.

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz welcomed the programming in a letter to pastors and parish leaders last month.

“Though the archdiocese does not directly own or sponsor any of these stations, we work with them to air archdiocesan programming when possible,” said the archbishop in his letter. “I appreciate all of these efforts.”
