Mid-Kentucky Chorus to present cantata honoring President Lincoln

The Mid-Kentucky Chorus — in conjunction with the traveling Smithsonian exhibit, New Harmonies, and the Lincoln Days Celebration — will present a special cantata honoring President Abraham Lincoln on Oct. 6 and 7.

The cantata includes parts of Lincoln’s speeches and notes key moments in his life as president. Other music includes selections that were dear to Lincoln, including many songs written by Stephen Foster, hymns, ballads and familiar Civil War songs.

Performances, under the direction of Teresa Tedder, will be at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Ky., and at 3 p.m. Oct. 7 at St. Augustine Church in Lebanon, Ky. Reserved seating is available. For information or to make reservations, call Susan Spalding at 859-336-9232.
