Local delegates cancel March for Life trip

The Archdiocese of Louisville’s delegation to today’s March for Life in Washington, D.C., was not able to make it to the nation’s capitol due to winter weather conditions.

Ed Harpring, coordinator of pro-life ministries for the archdiocese and the bus  trip organizer, said snow advisories in West Virginia, en route to Washington, factored into his decision to cancel the trip.

He said some of the teenagers who planned to attend will instead attend a walk for life in downtown Louisville this afternoon. The walk will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Cathedral of the Assumption and is sponsored by the Archdiocese of Louisville’s youth ministry office.

The local walkers and those gathered for the annual rally and march face frigid temperatures and wind chills.
