IPL seeks nominations for ‘Cool Congregations Challenge’

Interfaith Power and Light, IPL, is accepting nominations for the “Cool Congregations Challenge,” a national contest to recognize congregations that “are becoming energy efficient and sustainable role models in response to global warming,” according to IPL’s website.

A congregation is eligible to enter the challenge if it “finished an energy efficiency, renewable energy, or grounds and water conservation project this year, or has engaged with the community in response to global warming,” according to a statement from the IPL.

There is also a planning category for congregations that have recently finished an energy audit and developed plans for improvements.

First place winners will receive $1,000. To enter the “Cool Congregations Challenge” visit https://www.coolcongregations.org/take-the-challenge/what-is-ccc/.
