Info sessions on hospital ministry planned

The archdiocesan Family Ministries Office is looking for active Catholic men and women who would like to be trained to visit Catholic hospital patients and their families in local hospitals. Information sessions about joining the BeFriender Hospital Ministry will be held in June and July.

Those who want to join this ministry will attend a weekly training program from mid-August to early November to learn about several topics, including pastoral listening skills and understanding grief and loss. Those who complete the training will be commissioned to serve on BeFriender Hospital Ministry Teams.

Information about this ministry will be presented during hour-long sessions at the Maloney Center, 1200 S. Shelby St., on June 20 at 2 p.m., June 27 at 6:30 p.m., July 11 at 11 a.m., July 18 at 2 p.m. and July 25 at 6:30 p.m. To register, call the Family Ministries Office at 636-0296, ext., 1256.
