Holy Spirit, St. Patrick teams win CSAL Quick Recall tournaments

St. Patrick School won the Catholic Schools Academic League’s (CSAL) sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade Quick Recall tournament held Nov. 7 at Holy Spirit School, 332 Cannons Lane.

Holy Spirit School won the CSAL’s sixth-grade Quick Recall tournament, which was held Nov. 14 at Holy Trinity School, 423 Cherrywood Rd.

In the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade division, St. Patrick defeated Holy Spirit-White in one semi-final match 26-23 and St. Margaret Mary-White defeated St. Mary Academy 33-20 in the other semi-final match. St. Patrick defeated St. Margaret Mary-White in the championship match 27-21 to win the tournament.

Thirty-eight teams from 27 schools participated in the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade league this season.

In the sixth-grade division, Holy Spirit defeated Holy Triniy-Green 32-11 in one semi-final match and St. Patrick edged St. Aloysius-Blue 17-16 in the other semi-final match. Holy Spirit defeated St. Patrick in the final match 36-9, capping off an undefeated season of 11-0.

Twenty-six teams from 20 schools participated in the sixth-grade league this season.
