Father William Joseph Scollard dies

Resurrection Father William Joseph Scollard died on May 8 at Resurrection Manor in Waterloo, Ontario. He was 77 and in his 36th year of religious life.

Father Scollard served as a pastor in Ontario, Kentucky and Bermuda. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, he served as pastor of the former St. Cecilia and St. Timothy churches and as administrator of the now-closed churches of Our Lady Help of Christians and St. Patrick in Westpoint, Ky.

He is survived by his brothers John (Jay) and Gerald; sisters Marcella McCarthy and Rita Beauchesne; nieces and nephews.

The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Resurrection College, St. Eugene’s Chapel, at 10 a.m. on May 13. Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Kitchener, Ontario, at a later date.
