Events for kindergartners planned June 11 and 13

Kindergarten Countdown, a series of events for students entering kindergarten, will be hosted at various locations in Louisville this summer.

Children entering kindergarten will receive a free T-shirt, which will serve as a ticket into events for the child and an accompanying adult. Children also receive a free book.

Stop by any Louisville Free Public Library June 1 or after to register and pick up the T-shirt and book.

The first event will be June 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Frazier History Museum, 829 W. Main St. The next event is the Kindergarten Countdown kickoff event June 13 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Louisville Slugger Field, 401 E. Main St.

The event will include a Louisville Bats game, the opportunity to meet representatives from local schools and free items.
