His Holiness the XIV Dalai Lama will return to Louisville next April and plans to speak at the conclusion of the 22nd annual Festival of Faiths.

Next year’s Festival of Faiths, set for April 19 to 24, will culminate with addresses by the Dalai Lama on April 23 and 24. He will speak on universal human values and nonviolence at the KFC Yum! Center on April 23, according to a press release from Mayor Greg Fischer’s office. His talk the following day will include a large youth gathering.

The visit is being organized by several local organizations involved in the city’s compassion initiatives, including the mayor’s Office, the Center for Interfaith Relations, the Drepung Gomang Center for Engaging Compassion and the newly-formed International Center for Compassionate Cities.

The theme of the 2017 festival is “Compassion: Shining like the Sun.” More details about themes and programming, as well as ticket options, for the April event will be released in January. News and updates will be posted at www.FestivalofFaiths.org and www.DalaiLamaLou
