Catholic high school graduates receive millions in scholarship money

RecordLogo-FThis year’s graduates of the nine Catholic high schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville received $128.4 million in scholarships to colleges, universities, vocation and business schools. Of the 1,457 graduates, 905 or 62%, received scholarships.

According to a press release from the archdiocese, that sum doesn’t include grants or Kentucky Educational Excellence Scholarships.

The graduating class also included 24 National Merit semi-finalists, 22 National Merit finalists, 28 National Merit commended students and nine students who received National Merit college-sponsored scholarships.

Fifty-three students participated in the 2015 Governor’s Scholars program and 14 took part in the 2015 Governor’s School for the Arts program. Together the students gave more than 62,700 hours of service.
