Catholic Cemeteries will honor military, those killed in action

The Catholic Cemeteries of the Archdiocese of Louisville will join with thousands of Catholic Cemeteries across the U.S. in a national celebration to honor men and women who died while serving in the armed forces. The observance will also recognize both active military and military veterans who have served our country.

Families may place prayers and tribute letters for past and present soldiers, sailors, Marines and airmen in a box that will be located during the month of May on the front entrance of the office building in Calvary Cemetery.

Families can also place photos of past and present military personnel on a display board that will be located in the Catholic Cemeteries’ office.

On June 1, prayers and photos will be collected and buried following a prayer service in St. Michael Cemetery. For information about the service, call 451-7710.
