Benedictine priests from Louisville mark 25th anniversary of profession

Two Louisville natives who are monks of St. Meinrad Archabbey are celebrating the 25th anniversary of their monastic professions this year. Both men professed first vows on Aug. 6, 1986.

Father David Rabenecker was ordained a priest in 1991. From 1991 to 1994 he served as an associate pastor in Evansville, Ind.

In 1994, Father Rabenecker became associate dean of students for St. Meinrad College, where he also served as a spiritual director and instructor. The
college closed in 1998.

He currently serves in prison ministry as a religious services evaluation specialist with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Father Edward Linton was ordained a priest in 1991 and taught English at St. Meinrad College from 1992 to 1998. He served as an associate pastor in Evansville and as a pastor in Chicago.

In 2014, Father Linton became director of St. Meinrad’s Institute for Priests and Presbyterates. He currently serves as director of international Benedictine formation at Collegio Sant’ Anselmo in Rome.
