Assumption students attend Mercy meeting

AssumptionLogo2015-fFour Assumption High School students attended the Young Mercy Leaders Conference at the Mercy International Center in Dublin, Ireland, July 18-21.

The Assumption students were among a group of 100 girls representing Ireland, Australia, Belize and the United States.

Dr. Lisa Wieland, a teacher at Assumption who attended the conference, said in a press release, “Students gained an understanding of and appreciation for the history of the Sisters of Mercy. Because it is an international conference, participants experienced the power of the ‘Circle of Mercy.’ They developed as Christian leaders and emerged ready to live Mercy in their lives.”

The students who attended the conference are members of the Sisters of Mercy’s Alive in Mercy (AIM) program. They are juniors Ellie Kraus, Lindsay Jenkins, Katherine Cermack and Alayna Breslin. Clare Justice, Maddie Smith and Emma Bairo — 2017 graduates and founding members of AIM — also attended.
